My Favorite Art Blogs and WebsitesHere are my favorite resources for arts/crafts supplies, project tutorials and ideas, and general crafting tips and education!
Sarah Jane's Craft Blog This blog has some great alcohol ink tutorials, and is the blog that inspired my alcohol ink pendants! (Check out this alcohol ink gem tutorial, with links modifications at the bottom of the page.) Sarah Jane is always experimenting with new techniques, so it's a definitely blog worth subscribing to. Her simple crafts can easily be modified and expanded upon for other projects. Kim Crick Art and Craft Supply This website has fantastic tutorials and an enormous variety of craft supplies. They have a large selection of supplies for jewelry making, rubber stamping, polymer clay crafts, and more. In regards to tutorials, their lightfastness reviews are particularly recommended. They thoroughly test many different art mediums for fading, and checking their reviews before trying any new art medium can be very helpful. Please note that the artist is in the process of transferring all content from their old website to their new one, and for the moment, all tutorials can be found at their old website The Enchanted Gallery. Epbot.com This is quite possible one of my favorite websites. They have in depth craft tutorials ranging from cute to creepy to just plain weird. See these Unicorn Candy Charms, Doll Mobiles for Halloween, and Furry Monster Christmas Trees, for examples. In addition to fun craft projects, they have tutorials for painting, faux finishes, and home renovation projects that can be very helpful to artist of different mediums. This geeky nerdy blog is quirky, charming, and entertaining and is highly recommended for fans of Disney, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Steampunk etc. My Repurposed Life This well designed upcycling website has many projects for home décor and furniture. Their tutorials are easy to follow and aren’t padded with irrelevant anecdotes. My favorites are their bookshelf made from shutters, DIY birdbath, and coffee pot lamp. Their thrift store makeovers are also worth checking out. Crafts Unleashed This blog has many great simple jewelry and home décor projects, with links to needed supplies that they sell in their store, with free shipping available. I personally want to try making these DIY statement earrings, water marbled jewelry dish, and embroidery hoop clock. Their website is very well organized, with categories for many different types of crafts. |
